Event description:
We study slices to Schubert varieties in the a ffine grassmannian. These are natural objects from the point of view of geometric Satake - they correspond to weight spaces of irreducible representations. We’ll describe how to quantize these slices using subqoutients of certain quantum groups called Yangians. We hope to also discuss some conjectures relating these quantizations to categorification of irreducible representations of Lie algebras. Based on joint work with Kamnitzer, Webster, and Weekes.
