Event description:

I will discuss an algebraic version of the complex integrability exponent of a pluri-subharmonic function (a.k.a. log canonical threshold). This is associated
to suitable sequences of ideals on an algebraic variety. I will explain the connections between the study of this invariant and valuation theory, and discuss a conjecture concerning the valuations that compute the invariant. This is based on joint work with Mattias Jonsson.
