We will discuss toric degeneration of the ring of regular functions on $G/U$ in the case when $G$ is $GL(n, C)$ or $Sp(2n, C($ and $U$ is its maximal unipotent subgroup. In particular, we will present how Gelfand-Tsetlin patterns can be acquired in this degeneration.
