I would first of all explain the motivation for studying these problems. It
turns out that number theoretic techniques are used in studying these problems.
I would like to raise the question of whether number theoretic techniques are
necessary for these problems. Then I would like to discuss recent results due
to Ionescu, Magyar, Stein and myself.
