Event description:

It is widely conjectured that polycyclic groups are
quasi-isometrically rigid. Applying work of Dymarz and utilizing the
technique of coarse differentiation introduced by Eskin-Fisher-Whyte, I
will discuss the proofs and some results that support this conjecture in a
class of higher rank solvable Lie groups.
