Seminar:
Algebraic and Tropical Geometry
Event time:
Thursday, October 29, 2015 - 12:30pm to 1:30pm
Location:
DL 431
Speaker:
John Voight
Speaker affiliation:
Dartmouth College
Event description:

Generalizing the classical theorems of Max Noether and Petri, we describe generators and relations for the canonical ring of a log curve, including an explicit Grobner basis. Time permitting, we will consider an extension to the case of stacky curves. This is joint
work with David Zureick-Brown.
