Event description:
This talk will focus on operators like the classical X-ray transform, which average functions on $\mathbb{R}^n$ over a family of curves with dimension greater than $n$. Using the methods of geometric combinatorics developed by M. Christ, $L^p$-improving properties will be proved for the (suitably-defined) nondegenerate case.
