Multiplicity one theorems

I shall explain a local proof of multiplicity one theorem
for discrete spectrum automorphic representations of the
quasi-split unitary group in 3 variables. This, in fact,
is currently the only proof of this theorem, as the global
proof which I once proposed is incomplete. In the case of
gthe rank 2 symplectic group, a global proof does apply.
