Event description:

I will talk about logarithm laws and shrinking target properties for unipotent flows on certain homogeneous spaces. In particular, I will describe the case of $X=\Gamma\backslash SL(2,C)$. The main new ingredient in the proof is a uniform bound on the $L^2$ norm of theta functions in this setting. This is based on joint work with Amir Mohammadi.
