Event description:
The problems of asymptotic representation theory is to study
asymptotic properties of the representations of the classical (discrete or continuous)groups when the rank of the group tends to infinity. We will illustrate the interrelations and advantage of asymptotic theory in the several problems which appear in theory of representations of finite groups and its applications.
