Growing graceful trees via Gaussian elimination

We settle in the affirmative a conjecture raised by Robin W. Whitty for enumerating gracefully labeled trees. We will showhow the enumeration of gracefully labeled graphs having no isolated vertices exhibits a wonderful interplay between the determinant, permanent while at the same time suggests interesting combinatorial generalizations to the notion of Immanant of a matrix.
