Event description:
After defining the Gaussian-Wahl map for algebraic curves, we will discuss applications to deformation theory and the local behavior of moduli spaces. If time permits, we will discuss recent joint work with Yoav Len, in which we use nonarchimedean methods to compute the ranks of Gaussian-Wahl maps for general line bundles on general curves.
