Event description:
The moduli space of rational curves with marked points admits
many different natural compactifications. We will construct a large class
of these compactifications, including several previously constructed
spaces as well as many new ones, using geometric invariant theory. As a
consequence of our GIT approach, we will see that all of these spaces are
related via explicit divisorial contractions and flips.
