Induction is a major tool of construction in representation theory. Cohomological induction is closely related to parabolic induction, and permits a classification of representations. In this talk, I’ll introduce those ideas and give some results and examples. No proofs will be given, and only basic representation theory and rudiments of homological algebra will be needed
