Basic representations of simply-laced affine algebras via affine Springer

Event description: 

The celebrated Frenkel-Kac-Segal isomorphism constructs the basic
representations of simply-laced affine algebras
from the vertex operators. I will give a geometric interpretation of this
construction by using Beilinson-Drinfeld’s
theory of factorization algebras. Suprisingly, this isomorphism fits into
the still conjectural Langlands duality for
Kac-Moody groups.
