January 16, 2015

Ten famous mathematicians and physicists were commissioned to create an aquatint print of the mathematical expression most meaningful to them.  The exhibition of these prints at the Yale University Art Gallery will open with an introduction by the project curator, Daniel Rockmore, Professor of Mathematics and Computer Science at Dartmouth College, and a talk by David Mumford, Professor Emeritus at Harvard University and Brown University, about his print in the exhibition.  The prints are by Sir Michael Atiyah, Enrico Bombieri, Simon Donaldson, Freeman Dyson, Murray Gell-Mann, Richard M. Karp, Peter Lax, David Mumford, Steve Smale, and Steven Weinberg.  There will be a reception afterward. The Art of the EquationThursday, January 22, 20155:30 - 6:30 pmYale University Art Gallery lobbyFree and open to the public,  1111 Chapel Street, New Haven, Connecticut
