Gregory Margulis awarded 2020 Abel Prize

The Mathematics Department congratulates our colleague Gregory Margulis, who was awarded the 2020 Abel Prize together with Hillel Furstenberg of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.  Furstenberg and Margulis were cited for their work pioneering the use of methods from probability and dynamics in group theory, number theory and dynamics.
