Event description:
We will start with a short survey of the use of two dimensional objects for Thurston’s Hyperbolization Conjecture.Then, we will talk about the uniform 1-cochain approach to the conjecture. We will construct a pair of genuine laminations, and a topological pseudo-Anosov flow in a 3-manifold by starting with a uniform 1-cochain.
