Event description:

We give an overview of the dynamical approach to the universality of local spectral statistics of eigenvalues of random matrices. This approach is based around Dyson Brownian motion, a stochastic eigenvalue dynamics. We review recent results on Dyson Brownian motion, and applications to the universality of general random matrix ensembles. Based on joint work with Z. Che, J. Huang, P. Sosoe and H.-T. Yau.
