Yale excels in Putnam Exam

Handsome Dan - Putnam 2017This past December, 92 Yale undergraduates piled into LOM to participate in the annual William Lowell Putnam competition, and according to the results published by the Mathematics Association of America, Yale had twenty students score in the top 500---the fifth highest number of students in the top 500 of any institution participating this year.  Both of these numbers mark historic records for the university, as reported by the Yale Daily News https://yaledailynews.com/blog/2018/02/26/yale-excels-in-putnam-exam/

The day of the Putnam examination was celebrated by the University, with Handsome Dan making a morale-boosting appearance during the students' catered lunch.

The department would like to recognize the acheivements of everyone who participated, and in particular our students scoring in the top 500, as listed below:
