In Memoriam: Steven A. Orszag

The scientific community, and the Yale Mathematics Department, lost a valuable colleague and a pioneer in applied and computational mathematics with the passing of Steven Alan Orszag on May 1, 2011. His work had a deep influence in the field of fluid mechanics, particularly using mathematical and computational methods to tackle challenging problems in turbulent flow. Steve was 68 years old, and is survived by his wife Reba; his son Michael; his son Jonathan and his wife Rica; his son Peter and his wife Bianna Golodryga; his grandchildren Leila and Joshua; and his sister Myrna Baron.Our deepest condolences go out to Steve's family and friends.Please see the Yale Bulletin for further information.
