The Barge Prizes in mathematics will be awarded to freshman and sophomores on the basis of a competitive exam. This year the exam will be given on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon in Room 215 LOM. Interested students should sign up in Room 438 Dunham Lab. Sign-up Deadline: Monday, May 2, 2016.
The John Alan Lewis Prize is awarded to "an undergraduate majoring in mathematics, who wishes to pursue his/her studies over the summer and who, in the opinion of the University is most worthy of receiving the award." The proposal should describe an independent reading or research project which the student will undertake with the approval and guidance of a faculty member.
Interested students should submit their proposal to the DUS, Professor Andrew Casson, by Monday, May 2, 2016.
